Bio
When you hear the name Madaline Garcia, you don’t necessarily think sweet, quirky blonde girl next door (unless you know her). Once you've seen Madaline Garcia perform, you'll never forget her. Madaline is an amazing blend of her Kansas school teacher mom and her handsome Puerto Rican dad. She is as honest, kind, warm and as “real” as they come. She juggles life every day with a song on her lips, a deep love for the Lord in her heart, and a coffee in her hand. Don’t be fooled by her young age; Madaline is an old soul with a voice and work ethic out of the 1940s. When it comes to music, it's like turning the knob of perfection to ten. Every lyric is exact from memory. Every note is solid on key and rhythmically succinct and her performance is captivating.
Music has been a big part of Madaline’s life since she was very little. As she began her starlet path in the Methodist Church "Cherub Choir" at the age of four, her gift was recognized. This incredible talent was encouraged by her church and school choral directors as well as private instructors. Due to a severe visual impairment, it was difficult for her to read music, so she had to rely on her hearing. Maddie attributes her lack of vision to her enhanced musical acuity. Her diverse musical style started In her teen years as she would perform traditional hymns in churches, jazz with combos and standards, and country and pop at festivals. In her college years, Madaline toured and performed across the globe with the Jazz Ensemble “One Voice”. While touring China, Madaline remembers, “I encountered LOTS of Christians! But they were very much on the down low and didn’t speak openly about it. But it was so cool to bear witness to their incredibly strong faith in a world where it is not accepted.”
Madaline has lived most of her life with thick glasses and very poor vision. In 2017, she received (what she prays was) her last eye surgery as they were able to get her surgically corrected to near 20/20 vision. Through her struggles growing up, she knew what it was like to be singled out for being different. She’s developed a tremendous compassion for special needs children & adults and has become a champion for special needs organizations. She’s one of the favorite activity leaders for Gigi's Playhouse in Brentwood,TN. She also loves to perform for and with participants at Wellspring Community in Castle Rock, CO a day program for special needs adults.
Maddie often leads worship in a local church in a Nashville suburb where she lives her husband and two daughters, Ari and Lyla Belle. You'll see the girls featured on Madaline’s social media occasionally as she is baptized into motherhood head-first and you can witness the impressions on Madaline’s music as she experiences this new season of life.
Garcia has co-written a number of songs with some top-notch CCM-Pop, Worship and Country writers. The title track of her 2018 Christmas EP, “Christmas With You” was picked up for rotational airplay by major market reporting stations including Nashville’s WSM 95.5 “NASH-Icon” in the 2018 Christmas season. To date she has released two EPs and is currently (2019) releasing a song every 4 to 6 weeks leading up to a CD release in September and a second Christmas EP in October leading up to her Fall One-off events and Christmas tour.
